Azad Rahimov: Extension of this agreement has never been disputable issue for us

Baku. 5 February. REPORT.AZ/ ‘This is a proud event for us. Dreams of capital residents came true and we witnessed that Formula 1 races have turned into one of the weekend competitions from just an idea’, Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov said at the signing ceremony of new agreement with Formula 1 Group, Report informs.

He noted that auto race fans come to Azerbaijan from around the world every year: ‘We are happy that the world auto race community show interest to Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Taking advantage of an opportunity, I thank Chase Carey and everyone in Formula 1 for providing support to us in this success’.

Rahimov noted that as a result of extension of the agreement, local and regional business authorities will have an opportunity to benefit from global platform of the Formula 1: ‘Consequently, we’ll be able to increase of commercial incomes maximally. Taking these advantages into account, I can say that extension of the agreement has never been a disputable issue for us and we’re ready to host the race for more five years’.
