Political scientist: Zangazur Corridor to contribute to economic growth of all project participants

The Zangazur Corridor, which is designed to connect the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic with the rest of Azerbaijan by land, will contribute to significant economic growth of all countries participating in the project, political scientist, director of the Kazakhstan Institute of Applied Ethno-Political Research Talgat Kaliyev told Report.

He noted that the importance of the Zangazur Corridor can hardly be overestimated. In the context of the development of the Trans-Caspian transport corridor, referred to as the Middle Corridor, the inclusion of the Zangazur Corridor in it will significantly reduce the time for the transit of goods from China and Central Asia to Europe, he added. The corridor will open a direct route to the Turkish border, he said.

“This would dramatically increase the throughput of the Middle Corridor, the speed of cargo passing through it, and would also contribute to obtaining a significant economic effect for all parties to the project,” Kaliyev said.

Kazakhstan has always stood for the restoration of the territorial integrity of fraternal Azerbaijan, and any progress in this matter is certainly encouraging, Kaliyev noted.
