Minister: "Restriction and more efficient use of polyethylene bags is very important"

Baku. 14 November. REPORT.AZ/ "Naturally, it won't be possible to abandon polyethylene bags, their assortment is wide. But it is very important to limit some of them and use them more efficiently," Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev said at the 9th Azerbaijan International Environmental Exhibition.

He said that in order to restrict the use polyethylene bags, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and other partner organizations carry out numerous campaigns: "The purpose of the awareness-raising work is to be closer to the management of plastic waste and to soften this problem for Azerbaijan”.

According to the Minister, the 10th exhibition will be held in 2019 as the continuation of this year's exhibition: "We will make it even more solemn and more interesting. Many exhibits, interesting technologies have been brought to this year's exhibition in Azerbaijan. It is very important for our citizens to get acquainted with these technologies and to study those technologies. All the technologies here are of interest to us and everything is important."
