Azerbaijan resumes potato imports from Netherlands

In the first 7 months of 2022, Azerbaijan imported 100,051 tons (+1.4%) of potatoes (excluding seed potatoes) worth $26.31 million (+10.7%), Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.

During the reporting period, 36,128 tons (-60.7 %) worth $8.9 million (-59.5%) were imported from Iran, 30,620 tons (+6 times) worth $7.7 million (+6 times) from Turkiye, 24,556 tons (+501 times) worth $7.4 million (+491 times) from Pakistan, 5,856 tons (+4 times) worth $1.5 million (+4 times) from Georgia, and 2,824 tons (+139 times) worth $847,350 (+207 times) from Ukraine.

After three years and six months, the supply from the Netherlands was resumed, with 0.05 tons of potatoes worth $1,250 bought from the country.

In the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 78,156 tons (-15%) of potatoes worth $35.1 million (-12%).

Of the total volume of Azerbaijan's exports, Russia accounted for 73,532 tons (-13.5%) worth $33.4 million (-12.8%), Belarus was responsible for 1,886 tons (+42,1%) worth $776,880 (+2.2 times), Ukraine for 1,414 tons (-70%) worth $561,420 (-47%), Georgia for 527.6 tons (+7.6 times) worth $131,390 (+11 times), and Lithuania for 368.8 tons worth $91,160.

This year Azerbaijan started exporting potatoes to Lithuania for the first time in 11 years (official statistics on foreign trade in open access are available until 2011).
