Technical work for the opening of the Alican border-crossing point between Turkiye and Armenia has started, Report informs via Hurriyet.

The process of normalizing relations between the two countries continues.

Work has been completed for the start of cargo flights between Turkiye and Armenia:

"Flights between the two countries will start by the end of 2022. So, the Turkish-made goods will be delivered directly to Armenia by cargo."

Another issue is the opening of the Alican border crossing point and the provision of permission for third-country citizens to travel between the two countries:

"There is a bridge of about 128 meters on the border. It needs to be repaired for safe passage, but winter hampers serious steps in this direction."

According to the newspaper, preparations are underway for the start of direct trade between the two countries.
