Baku. 23 January. REPORT.AZ/ Iran cut 66,740 jobs in public sector amid harsh economic measures in 2018.

Report informs citing ISNA that the dismissals were carried in 14 ministries, including the Iranian  Ministry of Education of Iran. The Ministry of Education accounted for the greatest number of job cuts with 35,000 of its employees released from their posts.

While the Ministry of Oil saw 8,000 people dismissed, the Ministry of Mining Industry and Trade accounted for 7,654 job cuts.

It is unclear which criteria the job cuts are based on.
