Zelenskyy to Iranian people: 'Why do you take evil's side?'

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the Iranian public noting that by supporting Russia in its war against Ukraine, Iran is just driving itself into a bigger isolation from the rest of the world, Report informs via UNIAN.

Zelenskyy noted that nearly 1,160 Shaheds had been used against Ukraine with the majority 'downed by our missile defense systems.'

"But as these strikes continue all the time today, I would like to address directly the people of Iran. Just a simple question: why are you made accomplices to the Russian terror? Why do you take the side of the evil country? The world sees what is going on and you all in Iran see it. You can't deny the support of evil," Zelenskyy said.

He noted that though Ukrainian defenders learned how to down Iranian Shaheds, the strikes still occur that kill people.

"Why do you, Iranian mothers and fathers, need it when the Iranian drone kills a pregnant Ukrainian woman and her husband at their homes? When your Shahed hits a student campus, people die, fire breaks out, rescuers arrive at the scene and in just minutes, the second Shahed takes the lives of those who rescued others... what are these cynical killings by Iran for?" the president asks.

Zelenskyy noted that though it is made by Russia, but the weapons are Iranian.

"What do you, the people in Tehran, or in Shiraz, or in Sakkez, or in any other city of your country, get from that? Unfortunately, you get a bigger isolation from the rest of the world, the bigger problems. I am sure that you should be on the other side of the history - not on the evil's side," he said.
