Coronavirus: Spain death toll close to 16 thousand

Another 605 people died of coronavirus in Spain on the last day, Report says, citing the Health Ministry of the country.

Thus, total number of pandemic victims reached 15,843.

Moreover, the number of COVID-19 cases increased by 4,576, bringing a total number to 152,446. Meanwhile, the day before, the total number of dead was 15,238.

Notably, the coronavirus infection began to spread in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December last year. 209 states and regions have already reported on confirmed cases.

The number of people infected with coronavirus globally has so far exceeded 1 614 000, 362 409 of those recovered, while 96 788 died.

The World Health Organization (WHO) named the infection COVID-19 on February 11. On March 11, the organization declared the coronavirus a pandemic.
