At least five illegal migrants have died trying to reach the shores of the Spanish Canary Islands, according to the country’s rescue service, Report informs referring to TASS.
The situation with the arrival of illegal immigrants in the Canary Islands worsened last year, as a result of which 39,900 migrants arrived in the archipelago. This is 154.5% more than the figure of 2022. From January 1 to June 15 this year, almost 20,000 more illegal immigrants arrived in the islands, which is 221% more than the figure for the same period in 2023.
