Parliament approves bill on increasing labor pensions

Baku. 19 February. REPORT.AZ/ The legislation has been amended to increase labor pensions in Azerbaijan.

Report informs that the bill “On labor pensions” has been discussed at today’s plenary meeting of the Milli Majlis.

According to the draft submitted by President Ilham Aliyev to the Parliament on the legislative initiative, the text of Article 6-1 (Minimum Amount of Labor Pensions) is provided in the new edition: "The minimum amount of the labor pensions is set at 160 AZN from 1 March 2019. If the amount of the labor pension is lower than the minimum wage, it shall be paid to reach the same amount."

The current text of the article is as follows: "Minimum amount of labor pensions is set at 110 AZN from July 1, 2017."

The bill was adopted through voting following debates.
