On December 14, a new border commandant's control service started military service in Zangilan, on the border with Armenia.

The press center of the State Border Service (SBS) reports that at the opening of the new military unit, Deputy Chief of the State Border Service, Lieutenant General Ilham Mehdiyev congratulated the personnel for the start of the military service, Report informs.

In his speech, the deputy chief emphasized that the visit by Azerbaijani President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev to three new military units of the State Border Service in the liberated territories in October 2021 is an expression of high confidence in border protection and inspires border guards to new successes in service.

Then the participants in the event got acquainted with the conditions created for the border guards. On the territory of the border unit, working premises for personnel, officer-commander and soldiers’ hostels, a canteen, a bath and laundry complex, warehouses of weapons and supplies, and a marching area were built. To provide the military unit with electricity, electric generators have been installed, and a water supply system has been laid.

At the end of the event, servicemen, who distinguished themselves in service, were awarded.
