Tokayev: Trans-Kazakhstan railway corridor to become key link in TITR

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has called for accelerating the development of the Trans-Kazakhstan railway corridor to further develop the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), Report informs.

The Kazakh leader made this statement on January 28 at an expanded government meeting. He noted that transit potential is Kazakhstan's huge advantage in international competition, and it should be fully and effectively utilized.

"It is necessary to accelerate the development of the Trans-Kazakhstan railway corridor, which will become a key link in the Trans-Caspian route. Some important projects in this direction are being implemented, but we need to work further, looking ahead," noted the head of Kazakhstan.

Tokayev also emphasized the importance of timely implementation of railway transportation digitalization projects.

"We should focus on developing multimodal transport hubs that allow integration of transportation across all modes of transport. The current and next years should be breakthrough years in work in this direction," he added.
