China opposes politicizing issue on the distribution of 5G networks abroad

China opposes the politicizing of the problem of implementing the 5G mobile network abroad using Chinese technologies. Report informs, citing TASS Minister of Industry and Information Technology Miao Wei said.

"[We] are protesting against the politicization of the technology issue [the introduction of 5G networks], " RTHK radio quoted the Minister as saying. "We consider the talk that the use of Chinese technologies allegedly affects the national security of [a country] to be exaggerated: in fact, this is simply impossible."

Miao Wei also added that China "wants to establish a mechanism for cooperation with foreign government agencies and enterprises" in building 5G networks abroad.

On January 14, the BBC Broadcasting Corporation reported that Washington had passed a dossier of technical information to London, which called into question the British intelligence assessment of the possibility of using the technology of the Chinese company Huawei in the infrastructure of 5G networks without risking national security.
