Azerbaijan Railways increase transit cargo transportation

In the first half of this year, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC transported 7.223 million tons of cargo, Report informs referring to the Azerbaijan Railways CJSC.

This is 0.4 percent more compared to the same period last year.

During the reporting period, 3.464 million tons (48 percent) of cargo transportation accounted for international (import-export) transportation. This is 3.35 percent less compared to last year.

Over the past year, the volume of transit cargo transportation increased by 10.7 percent, to 2.496 million tons, while domestic cargo transportation decreased by 6.9 percent, to 1.263 million tons.
