Mauricio Sulaiman: Ilham Aliyev a great man with charisma

Baku. 5 October. REPORT.AZ/ "The President of Azerbaijan greeted us warmly. He is a great man with charisma”.

Report informs, President of the World Boxing Council (WBC) Mauricio Sulaiman said at a press conference in Baku.

He noted that support from President Ilham Aliyev is an incentive for athletes. WBC head said that after this he will promote Azerbaijan in all countries: "Ilham Aliyev is the President of the National Olympic Committee. For this reason, he is close to the sport. Support from his side is an incentive for athletes. The message we received from him was very pleasant. Each of us will leave Azerbaijan as a representative of this country. We will propagandize Azerbaijan in the countries that we will visit”.

M. Sulaiman spoke about the benefits of the WBC Convention in Baku. He noted that many members of the organization arrived in Azerbaijan and exchanged views. "Meetings were held for judges and the jury. The medical and legal committees discussed a number of issues. We also talked about security issues, and the plan of events for 2018 has been confirmed”.

Notably, the 55th WBC Convention is being held in Baku. The event is attended by representatives from 164 member countries, including many well-known boxers.
