Azerbaijani weightlifter is among Kazakhstan's best athletes

Baku. 2 January. REPORT.AZ/ Kazakhstan's prestigious 'Kazinform' Agency determined top ten of best athletes of 2015.

Report informs, Azerbaijani weightlifter Nijat Rahimov is also among top ten.

N.Rahimov won first gold medal of Kazakhstan team in 77 kg category in 2015 world championship held in Houston of US.

He takes the 9th place in Agency's list. More 3 weightlifters - double Olympic champion Ilya Ilyin, world championship silver medalist in 69 kg weight category Zhazira Zhapparkul and world champion in 105 kg category Alexander Zaychikov are also among top ten. Ilyin is ranked in 1st, Japarkul 8th, Zaychikov 10th.

Remaining six best athletes are professional boxer Gennady Golovkin, boxer Kanat Islam, judoka Yeldos Smetov, figure skaters Denis Ten and Elizabet Tursynbaeva and skier Zhanbota Aldabergenova.

Notably, Nijat Rahimov competed in Azerbaijani national team before. He was winner of 1st Summer Youth Olympic Games in 2010 in composition of the team.
