Azerbaijan Formula 1 Grand Prix may not be broadcast in country

The Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix may not be aired in the country.

Report informs that despite the fact that two Grand Prix of the new season has already been held, there were no broadcasts of Formula 1 from Bahrain and Saudi Arabia in the country.

In previous years, the race was broadcast in Azerbaijan on Idman TV-1. In addition, the broadcasting of the competitions on Russian TV channels was banned due to the military actions of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine. It is impossible to watch Formula 1 in Azerbaijan on cable TV channels.

Director of Idman TV Rovshan Binnatli told Report that they are not yet able to broadcast the current season.

"Negotiations are underway with all relevant departments, and therefore, I cannot say anything yet. We are working to broadcast the next stages of the season, including the Grand Prix Azerbaijan. The issue will be cleared up in the near future," he said.

The current season of the Azerbaijani Grand Prix will be held from 10 to 12 June.
