​Turkish Embassy: Recent events in Turkey was a coup attempt against government elected by the people

Baku. 16 July. REPORT.AZ/ "The situation, which unfolded in Turkey was a coup attempt to overthrow the democratically-elected government. Our people demonstrated unity and opposed it".

Report informs, the statement released by theTurkish Embassy to Azerbaijan says.

"Turkish President and government are in charge. Turkish Armed Forces was not involved in the coup attempt in its entirety. It was conducted by a clique within the Armed Forces and received a well-deserved response from our nation," the statement declares.
