"The format of the Russian-Azerbaijani expert council as one of the types of open diplomacy contributes to the development of relations between the two countries. I think that strengthening mutual understanding and trust between our countries in the current conditions is even more important," Director General of the Russian Council on International Affairs Andrei Kortunov said at a video meeting of the Russian-Azerbaijani expert council, Report informs.
Expressing satisfaction with the fact that the Russian language is the language of mutual understanding between the two peoples, the expert noted that the Caucasus has always been a keyspace for Russia.
Speaking about China's ties with Russia and Azerbaijan, Kortunov said that there is a new dynamic in relations among countries interested in cooperation: "The region should remain in the spotlight. Our cooperation should be broader."
