Patriarchal spirit and colonial spirit are identical, Benjamin Clement, coordinator of the Réunion branch of the Ka Ubuntu independence movement, told journalists.
According to Report, he emphasized that the restoration of historical justice is one of the main goals.
"At that time, compensation was only paid to men since they were considered owners. However, we must not forget about the women who suffered from these crimes. The general public is unaware of them, and we strive to make the truth public. The compensation we expect is the restoration of historical justice and our dignity," Clement stated.
