Azerbaijan, as the chair of the Non-Aligned Movement, promotes a number of important issues within the UN Human Rights Council, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at the 54th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Report informs.
“As a chair of NAM, Azerbaijan has initiated a platform for dialogues between NAM member states and special procedure mandate holders. Azerbaijan as a NAM chair promotes within HRC such topics as right to development, international cooperation in human rights and the impact of unilateral cohesive measures on human rights including by tabling the sematic HRC resolutions.
In this national capacity, Azerbaijan actively promotes within the council issues like the synergy between implementing sustainable development goals, promoting and protecting human rights and ensuring efficient transparent and accountable public service delivery systems,” he noted.
