The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is dealing with a large number of missing persons cases and participates in the process as a neutral party, head of the Central Tracing Agency of the ICRC, Florence Anselmo, said at the international conference “Increasing national and global efforts to clarify the fate of missing persons” in Baku, Report informs.
She thanked the Azerbaijani government for hosting this event.
According to her, representatives of a number of countries with the necessary experience in this matter are participating in the event.
Florence Anselmo noted the importance of participating in the search for family members of missing people, because they are the ones who tirelessly search for their loved ones.
Behind every such case there is a family that still does not know the fate of a person close to them, said the ICRC representative, emphasizing that the issue of searching for missing people should not be politicized.
