Ambassador: Belgium attaches great importance to strengthening of EU-Azerbaijan partnership

Baku. 21 July. REPORT.AZ/ An official reception on the occasion of the national day of Belgium - the Independence Day and 25-year-anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Azerbaijan was held in Baku.

Report informs, anthems of the two countries were played at the beginning of the event.

Speaking at the reception, Ambassador of Belgium to Azerbaijan Bert Schoofs said that over the last years, the relations between the two countries have been developing successfully, and he expressed gratitude to those who have done their best for the development of these ties.

Noting that Brussels is the capital of the European Union, he highlighted that Belgium supports and attaches great importance to the stregthening of the EU-Azerbaijan partnership.

In turn, Ambassador-at-large of Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry Fakhraddin Gurbanov congratulated the Ambassador and the people of Belgium on behalf of the Azerbaijani government. He emphasized that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the strengthening of the ties with the European Union, its institutions and member-countries. He also recalled the visits between the two countries and their significance.

At the end of the event, guests received an opportunity to enjoy the Belgian cuisine.
