Rashad Sadigov plays in 300th match at Azerbaijani Championship

Baku. 21 August. REPORT.AZ/ The second stage of the Azerbaijani Premier League has become remarkable for footballer of the national team and “Qarabag” F.C. Rashad Sadigov. Report informs citing the AFFA’s official website, the 35-year-old defender has celebrated his jubilee by playing in the first Championship match in the new season.

The home match, where “Qarabag” defeated “Inter” with the score of 1:0, was the 300th one at the Premier League for Sadigov. He had played 299 matches before the current season, and he conducted his 300th match at the “Azersun Arena”.

He made a debut in 2000/2001 season as “Turan’s” player and played in 9 matches at this club. In 2001-2009, he played in 125 matches at “Neftchi”; in 2009-2017 – 166 matches at “Qarabag”. He has scored 16 goals at the Azerbaijani Premier League.

Notably, Rashad Sadigov is in the 17th place among the football players who have played in 300 and more matches not taking into account the interrupted matches and the matches, the results of which were eliminated.

Mahir Gurbanov has played in the majority of matches in the history of the Azerbaijani Championships.
