Baku. 26 September. REPORT.AZ/ The document was signed at the Baku Sports Palace on announcing the Brazilian Double World Cup winner Cafu as Special Olympics ambassador to the world.

Report informs that along with a veteran player, the president and managing director of the Special Olympics Europe David Evangelista and Brazilian athlete Emmanuel Dutra Fernandes de Sousa attended the ceremony.

David Evangelista started his speech by thanking Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov for organizing the 20th Global Young Leaders Forum in Baku: “Today it is a pleasure to see Cafu and Emmanuel here. A well-known football player like him will be our ambassador. And then we will try to expand our scope”.

Cafu said that it is very pleasant for him to take part in this kind of events during his first visit to Baku: "It is an honor to be a member of the Special Olympic Movement family. Making children laugh is more important than money and victory”.

Later, Cafu and Evangelista signed a cooperation agreement.

Notably, Cafu played for Brazil from 1989 to 2006. The 48-year-old fullback has been wearing the uniforms of "Sao Paulo", "Palmeiras", Spanish "Saragosa", Italian "Roma" and "Milan" in his homeland throughout his career. He is the winner of the world cups of 1994 and 2002.
