Voting right of Azerbaijan in AIIB decreased

Baku. 15 February. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijan's participation share in the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) decreased by 0,0081 percentage points and made 0,2763%.

Report informs citing the bank, this is due to ratification of Philippines, Iran and Portugal memberships to the AIIB.

According to the information, also, right of Baku to vote in the AIIB decreased by 74 votes or 0,0229 percentage points. Currently, Azerbaijan's right to vote makes 5 635 votes or 0,5215%.

Azerbaijan's participation share in the bank has not changed in nominal terms and currently makes 254.1 million USD.

Notably, Philippines's membership to the AIIB was ratified on December 28, 2016, Iran's on January 16, 2017 and Portugal's on February 8.

Notably, 57 countries have signed an agreement on June 29, 2015 in Beijing for establishment of the AIIB. Azerbaijani Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov signed the agreement on behalf of the Azerbaijani side. Membership of Baku was ratified on June 24, 2016.
