Minister of Finance: 'We are interested in keeping manat stable'

The Ministry of Finance is interested in keeping the manat rate stable, Minister Samir Sharifov said at the session of the Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan.

"We are closely cooperating with the Central Bank of Azerbaijan in this regard," he said.

The minister added that the state budget revenues are quite high due to high hydrogen prices in the world market, which is why the funds allocated to cover the budget deficit are not expected to be used.

"The fiscal resilience of the country can be ensured primarily by reducing the non-oil base deficit year by year. Another option is to keep the revenues of the State Oil Fund stable," Sharifov said.
