Vucic: IGB project also important for Serbia

The implementation of the Greece-Bulgaria interconnector (IGB) is also important for Serbia, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said at the IGB inauguration ceremony in Sofia.

He congratulated his Bulgarian and Greek friends on the successful completion of this.

Vucic noted that the construction of the interconnector between Serbia and Bulgaria has already begun. He expressed hope that in a year the construction work will be completed by both sides and that in 2023 a similar ceremony would be held in his country.

According to Vucic, the inauguration of the IGB is important in terms of the volumes of natural gas supplied in anticipation of a cold winter.

The Greece-Bulgaria gas pipeline was put into commercial use today. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev took part in the pipeline inauguration ceremony in Sofia, Bulgaria.

IGB is connected to the Trans-Adriatic gas pipeline in Greece, which will allow delivering Azerbaijani gas from the Shah Deniz field to Bulgaria.
