SOCAR resumes oil export via Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline

SOCAR has resumed oil export via Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline, Ibrahim Ahmadov, Deputy Head of Public Relations at SOCAR, told Report.

In March 2019, Azerbaijan stopped pumping oil through the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline in connection with the maintenance work in the Azerbaijani section of the pipeline.

In 2018 SOCAR exported 1,298,800 tonnes of crude oil via Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline down 199,700 tonnes from previous year.

On February 18, 1996, an agreement was signed on transporting Azerbaijani oil to the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk through the territory of Russia. Azerbaijan has been transporting its oil to the world markets through the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline since 1997.
