Azerbaijan’s carbamide export exceeds 10,000 tonnes this year 

In January-February 2021, Azerbaijan exported 10,790 tonnes of nitrogen fertilizer worth $1,726,340, respectively down 12,185 tonnes (2.12-fold) and $1.884 million (2.1-fold) from the previous year.

Export of nitrogen fertilizer constituted 0.52% of total exports of Azerbaijan on the non-oil sector.

The nitrogen fertilizer is produced in the SOCAR Carbamide Plant, of which the production capacity is 650-660,000 tonnes of carbamide using 435 million cubic meters of natural gas. The Plant was put into operation on January 16, 2019. 70% of the production is for export.
