"Azerbaijan is interested in attracting investors and consulting services to the energy sector," Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Energy Elnur Soltanov said at the German-Azerbaijani Sustainability Forum on “Renewable Energy in Azerbaijan”, Report informs.
According to him, currently, the development in Azerbaijan is regulated based on a special plan, which includes plans and goals until 2030. One of the five goals included in the plan is to develop a green environment in the country.
The Deputy Minister said that Azerbaijan is actively working to develop alternative and renewable energy sources.
Soltanov stressed that work is underway to create a green energy zone in the liberated territories, and there are a lot of opportunities for this: "Karabakh has great resources for the development of solar energy. We plan to use water resources in the liberated areas to generate electricity and build 18 small hydropower plants here."
