Azerbaijan, Ukraine to hold meeting of experts on mutual recognition of diplomas, academic ranks

Azerbaijan and Ukraine have agreed to hold an online meeting of the Joint Commission of Experts on Mutual Recognition and Equivalence of Education Documents and Academic Ranks. The organizational procedures for the event are underway, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine told Report.

The ministry noted that cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of education and science is carried out within the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Azerbaijan on mutual recognition and equivalence of education documents and academic ranks, which was concluded in Baku on March 16, 2000.

“To solve problematic issues of bilateral cooperation of both countries in the field of education and science during the meeting, which took place on September 24, 2020, with the participation of Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet (at that time Acting Minister) with Azerbaijan’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Ukraine Elmira Akhundova. They agreed to hold an online meeting of the Joint Commission of Experts on Mutual Recognition and Equivalence of Education Documents and Academic Ranks (in accordance with Article 11 of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Azerbaijan),” the ministry said.
