Baku. 14 February. REPORT.AZ/ "Bozdagh-Gobu volcano, located near Gobu village of Absheron region, is predicted to erupt this year, " Head of department, doctor of geological-mineralogical sciences, professor Adil Aliyev told Report.

He noted that 20 years have passed since the last eruption of Bozdagh-Gobu volcano: "This volcano rarely erupts. I suppose that several volcanic eruptions will be registered this year in Azerbaijan. Because volcanoes are usually activated after powerful underground tremors."

Notably, Bozdagh-Gobu volcano that firstly erupted in 1827, last erupted in 1999. The height of this volcano was nearly 400 meters in 1974, while the temperature there was above 1000 degrees Celsius. 300,000 cubic meters of volcanic mud dropped at that time.
