Ombudsman appeals to international community over Armenia's mine terror

Azerbaijan's Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) Sabina Aliyeva appealed to the international community in connection with Armenia's mine terror, Report informs, citing the Ombudsman's office.

She noted that as a result of the explosion of an anti-personnel mine in the Lachin region liberated from occupation, two more Azerbaijani citizens became victims of mine terror.

"Unfortunately, Elsavar Hamidov, who was engaged in repair and construction work in the village of Suarasy, Lachin region, died from severe injuries received as a result of a mine explosion, and Sabuhi Hasanov received injuries of varying severity.

This tragic event once again proves that the unmarked mines chaotically laid by Armenia in the civilian settlements of Azerbaijan pose a serious danger to the life and health of people and lead to the violation of their fundamental rights," the statement said.
