Gobustan Solar Power Plant to be launched in 2026

The Gobustan Solar Power Plant is expected to be launched in 2026, Javid Abdullayev, Chairman of the Azerbaijan State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the Energy Ministry, told journalists within the framework of COP29, Report informs.
"More than 130 companies were invited to participate in Azerbaijan's first renewable energy auction. The auction process consisted of two stages and lasted 6 hours. As a result, Universal International Holdings Limited won and gained the right to build the Gobustan Solar Power Plant. This station will have a capacity of 100 megawatts," he emphasized.
Abdullayev added that the contracts will be finalized within 20-25 days, and the exact commissioning date of the power plant will be known.
