Mirza Aliyev: We’re keen on attracting investors to create smart villages

“A smart village project in the Agali village of the Zangilan District was the first pilot project, and at the same time, we have many projects ahead of us," Mirza Aliyev, chairman of the Agrarian Services Agency under the Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry, told the 25th International Business Forum (IBF) in Baku, Report informs.

According to him, Azerbaijan is restoring Karabakh on the basis of the smart city and smart village projects: “Some time ago, the presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey got acquainted with the smart village established in the Agali village of the Zangilan District. All aspects of these projects, starting with the issue of urbanization, each element are a potential investment environment for investors.

“The whole village is built on green and alternative energy. We are interested in attracting investors in this direction. We invite investors to work on infrastructure projects, waste management, in the direction of smart village agriculture. We are confident that we will create conditions for entrepreneurs to build appropriate agricultural processing areas and infrastructure near smart villages and smart cities in the liberated areas."
