Baku hosts conference on "Role of entrepreneurship in development of regions"

Baku. 14 February. REPORT.AZ/ Total of $ 231 billion has been invested in Azerbaijani economy since 2004.

Report informs, President of Azerbaijani Entrepreneurs Confederation (AEC) Mammad Musayev said.

He noted that according to the volume of per capita investment, Azerbaijan is currently among the world's leading states: "More than 50% of investments accounted for foreign investors. This is a sign of hope for the future of the independent Azerbaijani state.One of the most important directions of Azerbaijan's socio-economic development strategy is the development of entrepreneurship.

Over the past 14 years since the world's leading countries have faced serious financial and economic challenges, the economy of Azerbaijan has risen three times and the country's financial resources have soared by more than 23 times. Energy security has been ensured, an infrastructure that meets modern requirements has been created, all cities and villages have been changed, about 2 million jobs have been created, education, health, culture and sports facilities that meet highest standards built up, salaries increased five times and pensions by over 8 times, the poverty level decreased by 8 times to 5%".

"Taking into account the work done, on behalf of Azerbaijani entrepreneurs, I would like to express our unanimous support to Ilham Aliyev during extraordinary presidential elections to be held on April 11," Musayev said.
