Azerbaijan Accreditation Center becomes EA associate member

Baku. 23 November. REPORT.AZ/ The delegation headed by Ramiz Hasanov, Chairman of the Azerbaijani State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patent attended the meeting of the General Assembly of the  European co-operation for Accreditation (EA) in Berlin (Germany).

Report informs citing the committee, the General Assembly considered the appeal of the Azerbaijan Accreditation Center to the European co-operation for Accreditation regarding an associate membership.

Azerbaijan Accreditation Center was unanimously accepted as an associate member of the international organization.

"This membership is a significant step towards eliminating technical barriers in trade relations with the European Union countries and joining the national conformity assessment system to the European quality infrastructure", statement said.

The work is underway on Azerbaijan Accreditation Center's joining mutual recognition agreement of the European co-operation for Accreditation (EA). Azerbaijan Accreditation Center has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Latvian National Accreditation Bureau and Hungarian National Accreditation Body in frames of the meeting.
