Container transportation through Georgia along the Middle Corridor increased by 33% in 2025, while freight volumes on the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway rose nearly sixfold, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said at the Georgia-Turkmenistan Business Forum.
According to Kobakhidze, the figures reflect the tangible results of the country's infrastructure modernization programs.
The prime minister welcomed Turkmenistan's plans to expand logistics and warehousing facilities near Georgia's Black Sea ports, describing the initiative as an important step in strengthening regional connectivity.
He said that, alongside the country's existing ports, the Anaklia Deep Sea Port and the planned free industrial zone around it would provide Turkmen companies with a key platform for accessing regional markets.
Kobakhidze also stressed that the Georgian government is committed to maintaining a stable, predictable and competitive business environment, while noting that the private sector plays the leading role in translating political partnerships into concrete economic results.
