The number of children given to a foster family may not exceed 3, said Farhad Alakbarov, head of the Adoption and Alternative Care Policy Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Report informs.
"However, the issue of siblings is an exception. Because the separation of those children is not allowed. When they are registered in the system, it is noted that they are siblings,” he said.
Alakbarov noted that the total number of children in a family, including foster children, should not exceed 5: “A contract is signed between the parent who takes a child into foster care and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population. However, there is no specific provision in the legislation regarding the term of the contract.”
