Today and tomorrow are celebrated as Eid al-Fitr in Azerbaijan, Report informs.

Eid al-Fitr has been celebrated by Muslims since the second year of the Hijri calendar (622 AD).

Fasting in Ramadan is obligatory for a person if he is accountable, able to fast, and settled. Quran says: "...and eat and drink until the white thread (light) of dawn appears to you distinct from the black thread (darkness of night), then complete your Sawm (fast) till the nightfall". (Al-Baqara. 187).

Quran, the book of Islam guidance for humanity, was revealed in the month of Ramadan.

Eid al-Fitr has been celebrated at the state level in Azerbaijan since 1993.

Eid prayer will be held at Ajdarbey Mosque on April 21 at 08:00, and at Taza Pir Mosque at 09:00.

The month of Ramadan started in Azerbaijan on March 23. The 1st of Shawwal (April 21) is the holiday of Fitr (Ramadan). According to the relevant decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, April 21 and 22 will be celebrated in Azerbaijan. Since April 22 falls on a Saturday, according to the Labor Code, April 21-24 are considered non-working days.
