Ukrainian MP: 'We want to establish justice like Azerbaijan'

Unfortunately, Pope Francis' statement about the "white flag" caused confusion and negative emotions among Ukrainians and representatives of the democratic world, Kyiv City Council deputy Dmytro Bilotserkovets, told the Eastern Europe Bureau of Report, while commenting on the scandal surrounding the Pope's proposal to "raise the white flag" in the war.

"But Ukraine wants only one thing - to establish justice like Azerbaijan. However, in order to achieve this, it is necessary to fight for it. Unfortunately, the Vatican is not trying to correct its mistakes. This is not the first statement by the Pope. I am sure that such cases can be corrected. Maybe Pope Francis really doesn't think the way the Russian propaganda machine is portraying. So, a day after this announcement, we saw how the Vatican interpreted these ideas,” the MP noted.

Bilotserkovets also mentioned that, in short, the Vatican, which has a great history, should not forget the lessons of history, what it means to fight for justice. After all, Ukrainians continue to fight, and every day our soldiers lose their lives, our peaceful citizens die defending the interests of the democratic world, including the Vatican," he added.

The Ukrainian MP expressed hopes that, as of now, they will see the Pope, who will defend justice and peace first of all.
