Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries plans to produce aviation fuel Jet A-1

Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries plans to produce aviation fuel Jet A-1. Currently the enterprise produces TS-1, Report informs.

Jet A-1 is intended for use in European and North American aircraft gas turbine engines. It is included in international documents and manuals for the operation of Airbus and Boeing aircrafts.

The difference between Jet A-1 and TS-1 (used in the civil aviation of Turkmenistan) is primarily in the production technology. Jet A-1 undergoes additional hydrotreating, it contains antistatic and stabilizing additives, it is more eco-friendly, and it`s flash point is 10 degrees higher.

The enterprise announced a tender for the organization of the production of a new type of fuel.
