Turkish official: "We will continue to support the people of Afghanistan"

Turkey will continue to support the people of Afghanistan," Fahrattin Altun, head of the Communication Department at the Turkish Presidential Administration, said, Report informs.

"The Turkish soldiers are returning home with the feeling of pride about the successful completion of a complex task. We are grateful to them for their services and self-sacrifice. We will continue to support the people of Afghanistan. Turkey has assumed important tasks in establishing peace and stability in Afghanistan," he said.

Altun reminded that the Turkish army had been taking part in the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan since 2002.

"Anyone who visits the region sees the love of the Afghan people for our army. Our military airplanes have evacuated 1,129 civilians up to date. Turkey is pursuing a human-centered foreign policy under the principle of 'no one is safe until everyone is secure in the region' from Libya to Azerbaijan, from Somalia to Syria and Afghanistan," Altun said.
