Turkish envoy presents credentials to Israeli president

Turkish Ambassador to Tel Aviv Sakir Ozkan Torunlar has presented his credentials to Israeli President Isaac Herzog, Report informs referring to Anadolu Agency.

The head of the Turkish diplomatic mission was received by the president at his residence in West Jerusalem.

Numerous steps were taken to normalize Turkish-Israeli relations throughout the past year.

The Israeli president visited Ankara in March 2022, and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu visited Israel in May.

The decision to increase the level of diplomatic relations and the mutual appointment of ambassadors was made by the parties on August 17, 2022.

Earlier, new Israeli Ambassador to Ankara, Irit Lillian, presented her credentials to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
