Students of the University of Medical Sciences in the city of Tabriz, southern Azerbaijan, protested against the killing of Aylar Haghi by the Iranian authorities.
Report informs, referring to sources in South Azerbaijan, that 23-year-old Aylar Haghi, a 4th-year university student, was killed by Iranian military police in Tabriz on November 12. Regime forces reportedly threw her from a multi-storey building.
The police tried to break up the funeral of the young Azerbaijani woman.
Aylar Haghi's funeral was held on November 18 at the Wadi Rahmat cemetery in Tabriz. The authorities also tried to prevent the burial of murdered Aylar. Military and police forces attacked the participants of the ceremony. Special police units and security forces blocked the entrances to the cemetery, preventing many protesters from going there.
The participants of the ceremony chanted "Death to the dictator!", "Death to Khamenei!", "Freedom, justice, national government!", "The Azerbaijani nation will not suffer this humiliation!", "We are ready to die, we are Babak's soldiers!", "We are all Aylars, the struggle continues!"
Some of those who attended Aylar Haghi's funeral were reportedly arrested.
