Coronavirus: Russia records about 5 thousand new cases

Russia confirmed 4 921 new COVID-19 cases in 83 regions over the past day, bringing the country's official number to  951 897, Report says.

According to the Operational Headquarters, Russia's death toll reached 16 310, as 121 others died over the past day.

Moscow lifted restrictions including compulsory travel passes on June 8, a move welcomed by residents who rushed out to enjoy the streets and parks. Many other regions lifted lockdown restrictions ahead of a July 1 national vote despite the pandemic. 

However, Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency, Rosaviatsia, has extended Russia's ban on international flights until Aug. 1 due to the coronavirus.
