Putin says rising inflation in Russia 'not due to operations in Ukraine'

The increase in inflation in Russia is not due to operations in Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of the Presidium of the State Council, TASS reports.

Putin said that aggregate inflation has exceeded 11% since the beginning of the year.

"If you look at inflation in North America and Europe, which do not carry out any operations, it is many, many times more than us," the Russian leader said.

He said that by the end of 2022, inflation should not exceed 15%.
