“Instead of social aid, we must offer jobs to able-bodied citizens. We have started working in this direction, and in the coming weeks, we will present to the public the program that has been successfully implemented in European countries,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said at a government meeting, Report informs.

Garibashvili said that currently, there are about 600,000 people without social security in the country, nearly half of whom are able-bodied and are not interested in looking for work and improving living conditions.

According to him, there are plans to create public jobs for thousands of citizens in every city and municipality of Georgia.

“Our citizens can work in two or three places at once and bring more money to their families,” he added.

The prime minister noted that a working group headed by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Environment and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili, will be established to develop the program.
