Ukraine’s National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities has approved new tariffs for gas distribution effective January 1, 2022, Report informs referring to UNIAN.

The corresponding decision was made on December 22.

The highest tariffs at 7 cent per cubic meter have been approved for consumers of such companies as Zakarpatgaz, Kharkivgaz, etc.

Compared to the current tariffs, the increase is from 10 to 15%.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the board of Naftogaz Yuriy Vitrenko said that the storage facilities have a sufficient volume of gas to supply the population, heating companies and budgetary institutions in the current heating season.

“If we look at how much consumers need in Naftogaz’s portfolio, and at the same time take into account the existing production of our own, we will see that in this heating season the difference between the needs of our consumers and our own production is 5.1 billion cubic meters of gas. This difference is fully covered by the reserves that are in the underground storage facilities,” he said.

Natural gas reserves in Ukrainian underground storage facilities (UGS) as of December 18 amounted to 14.94 billion cubic meters of the maximum capacity of 31 billion cubic meters.
